Hello! I'm Akouwa, the registered childminder behind Madele Childminding and a proud member of the Scottish Childminding Association (SCMA). I live in Edinburgh with my husband and our four wonderful children — one daughter and three sons, aged 4 to 12 — so I truly understand family life from the inside out.
My passion for childcare grew naturally through raising my own children and supporting friends' little ones over the years. I also bring professional experience from working with vulnerable adults in both residential care homes and home care settings, which has deepened my understanding of individual needs, compassion, and person-centred support.
As a Care Inspectorate registered childminder, my setting is regularly inspected to ensure the highest standards of care. I am committed to providing a nurturing, warm, and safe space where every child feels at home — and to continuously improving the quality of the service I offer. I strongly believe that partnership with parents is at the heart of great childcare, and I welcome families as equal partners in their child's journey.
My home has a large garden with age-appropriate outdoor toys, giving children the space and freedom to explore, play, and grow.
