At Madele Childminding, we believe that open, honest, and regular communication with families is at the heart of great childcare. You are our partners in your child's development, and we work hard to ensure you always feel informed, involved, and reassured.
Daily Updates & Real-Time Photos
We keep parents updated in real time with photos and videos of daily activities. It's reassuring and heart-warming to see your child happy, engaged, and well cared for throughout the day. We use our mobile phone to share these moments with you, in line with our Mobile Phone & Camera Policy and with written parental permission.
Some parents prefer a brief text message during the day; others are happy to catch up at pick-up. We are flexible and happy to do whatever works best for your family.
Daily Contact Book
Each child has a daily contact book where we record meals, naps, nappy changes, activities, and any notable moments from the day. This is shared with parents at collection time and gives a clear picture of your child's routine and wellbeing.
Observations & Learning Journals
We carry out regular observations of each child's achievements, interests, and learning styles. These are recorded in a learning journal and used to plan relevant, motivating experiences tailored to your child. Observations are matched to the expectations of the Early Learning Goals and the Curriculum for Excellence.
Parents are welcome to inspect their child's journal at any time. When your child eventually moves on from our care, the journal is given to your family as a precious keepsake.
Settling In & Transition
We organise settling-in sessions before your child starts with us. This gives you the opportunity to share detailed information about your child — their likes and dislikes, routines, favourite activities, and how to comfort them. It also gives your child the chance to get to know us gradually, at their own pace, so they feel safe and confident from day one.
We understand that every child is different and some may take longer to settle than others. We will work with you to support your child through this transition period, keeping you updated at every step.
Accident & Incident Reporting
In the unlikely event of any accident or incident, however minor, we complete a written report and ask parents to sign it at collection time. A copy is provided for your records. We believe that transparency in these situations is essential to maintaining your trust.
Open Door Policy
We always welcome questions, concerns, and conversations. If something is on your mind, please do not hesitate to speak with us at drop-off or pick-up, or contact us by phone or message during the day. We want every family to feel fully supported and heard.
Your child's wellbeing and your peace of mind are our top priority.
