Our Aims
The aim of our childminding service is to provide a safe, secure, and joyful environment where children from 9 months to 12 years old can be cared for, play, learn, and grow to achieve the full potential that is inherently in them.
Our service is very much child-centred. We have a wide range of age-specific toys and resources available so children feel stimulated and engaged at all times. We develop an individual plan for every child to meet their specific needs, which also helps us to better understand and support each child in our care.
Learning Through Play
We believe that children learn best when they are in a safe and caring environment where they are stimulated through play. We implement the Scottish Government's vision of play as a means to achieve healthy and balanced mental, physical and emotional wellbeing in Early Learning and Childcare.
High-quality play-based learning provides children with:
- Development of fine and gross motor skills
- Encouragement of creativity and critical thinking
- Enhanced emotional wellbeing
- Improved memory and organisational abilities
- Stronger teamwork and social skills
- Better communication, language and literacy
- Self-regulation, reasoning, numeracy and problem-solving skills
Activities We Provide
We offer a rich variety of activities including:
- Arts and crafts
- Books and storytelling
- Construction and building toys (e.g. LEGO)
- Pretend play (toy kitchen, dressing up)

Our Values
- Inclusion & Equality
We value each child for being special and deliver personalised play and learning to help them get the best start in life. We welcome all children equally, irrespective of race, religion, sex, disability, or background, and actively promote anti-discriminatory practice in line with the Equality Act 2010.
- Safety & Wellbeing
The health and safety of every child in our care is our utmost priority. We carry out daily risk assessments, hold a valid Paediatric First Aid certificate, and follow all Care Inspectorate requirements at all times.
- Respect & Kindness
We treat every child with warmth and respect, celebrate their individuality, and create an environment free from bullying or discrimination. We model kindness and encourage children to treat one another as they wish to be treated.
- Partnership
We work closely with families as equal partners, sharing observations, celebrating achievements, and communicating openly so that every child receives consistent, joined-up support at home and with us.
School & Nursery Connections
We can collect and take children to nearby schools and nurseries including Castleview Primary School, Greengables Nursery, and others in the local area. We also take children to local playgrounds, parks, libraries, and community spaces to ensure they enjoy a well-rounded daily experience.
